PlayWhot Terms of Service
By installing, signing in, or playing PlayWhot you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please uninstall and stop using the app.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms are a legal agreement between you and PlayWhot regarding your use of the PlayWhot game and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 12 years old (or the minimum digital consent age in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the Service. Some features may have higher age limits.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for any activity that happens under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate sign-in information and to keep your sign-in provider (Google / Apple) secure.
- You may not transfer, sell, or share your account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, after notice where reasonably practicable.
4. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or use third-party tools to gain an unfair advantage.
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or send unlawful, sexual, or hateful content to other players.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source of the Service except where local law permits it.
- Use bots, scripts, or automation outside of official APIs.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Sell, trade, or transfer in-game items, coins, or accounts for real money outside of the official Apple / Google in-app purchase channels.
Breach may result in warnings, item removal, match-result reversals, suspensions, or permanent account termination.
5. User-generated content
You retain ownership of the content you create. You grant PlayWhot a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, transmit, and display that content as needed to operate the Service. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
6. In-app purchases and virtual currency
- All purchases are processed by Apple / Google. Refund requests must usually be made to them directly.
- In-game coins, cosmetics, and virtual items have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for real money or transferred outside the Service.
- We may change item prices, availability, or balance. We will not retroactively remove items you have already purchased except where required by law or to address fraud.
- If the Service is discontinued we will give at least 30 days notice and, where reasonably practicable, refund unredeemed paid currency in line with consumer law.
7. Tournaments and ranked play
- Tournament entry fees in coins are refundable via the in-app Leave action until the bracket starts.
- Match-result disputes must be raised within 7 days.
- Ratings affected by cheating, abuse, or server errors may be corrected.
- Prize pools are denominated in virtual currency and credited to the winning account's coin balance.
8. Advertising
PlayWhot is free to play and supported in part by advertising via Google AdMob. You may consent to personalised ads, opt for non-personalised ads, or remove ads permanently through an in-app purchase. Withdraw consent at any time from Settings → Privacy.
9. Service availability and changes
We try to keep the Service available 24/7 but don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may take the Service down for maintenance, security, or legal reasons, and we may release updates, change features, or retire features as the Service evolves.
10. Intellectual property
The Service, including card art, game design, brand, trademarks ("PlayWhot", "Whot!™"), source code, and audio, is owned by PlayWhot or its licensors. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial entertainment.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. Provisions that should survive termination (IP, disclaimers, limitations of liability, dispute resolution) will survive.
12. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PLAYWHOT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID PLAYWHOT IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) USD $50. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by applicable law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where PlayWhot is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. EU and UK consumers retain the protection of mandatory local consumer law. We try to resolve disputes informally — please email legal@playwhot.com before starting formal proceedings.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes are communicated in-app and the "Last updated" date will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
